On Hiatus/Changes Coming
I've been on a self-induced hiatus. We finally got the basement (where my "crap room" is) recarpeted and painted. The walls are now a fresh green called Song of Summer and the carpet is clean and nice with a cushy pad underneath - I can even go down in stocking feet or barefoot if I so choose! Now I'm just waiting for Stan to finish the trim in the bedroom so we can get that room set up, then he can get the trim attached in my little crafting corner so I can get creative again...and hopefully we can enjoy our basement family room this summer. Ultimately I want to sell this house and buy a single-level home, but it may take me a while to convince Stan that's what's best for me/us! This house doesn't hold great happiness or memories for me; I think it's time to move on.
In the next couple weeks I will be posting some pictures of our finished space and I also hope to have an announcement here on my blog. Stay tuned...

Finally made some cards

I've been in a slump lately. I got a new Chemo Angels assignment and needed a card to send with my introductory letter. Fortunately, my new Stampin' Up Simply Scrappin pack came just the other day, so it was easy to make a couple quick cards with the stickers and cardstock that came with it. The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp. It didn't take long to whip up these 2 cards. I love the bright colors in this Petal Party kit.

For a Special Patient
I Met Heidi Swapp!
This past weekend I attended a papercrafting retreat locally. Heidi Swapp came to teach classes and I was lucky enough to take 2 of them. She is such an inspirational speaker and we all enjoyed hearing what she had to say, learning from her, and getting to know her. Thanks, Heidi! And thanks, Jeanie, for making it all happen!

Stamps of Life September Release

I needed a quick card today and my September Stamps of Life set was nearby, so this is what I came up with. Quick and simple. I used Pallette Noir ink and Copic markers. Card base is Prism cardstock that came with the September Stamps of Life set. You can't see it in the scan, but I also colored parts of the flowers with a clear Atoyou Spica glitter pen. The ribbon is Offray and probably came from Joann Fabrics.

Megan's Baby Shower

Kelli's new sister-in-law, Megan, - who was in the wedding a month ago at 8 months pregnant - had her baby (Hannah Jayne) on Kelli's brother Tyler's 20th birthday, September 26. Today is the baby shower and this is the card I made to go with our gift. My scanner really washes out colors, so it's much brighter than it may appear on your monitors. The chenille ric-rac is actually a light tourquoise color.
*Stamp is from a cheapie set from Michael's (and stamps that way!), ribbons are Making Memories, found at Michael's. Paper (which is embossed) was also found at Michael's. Kraft cardstock is from Papertrey Ink.
